A two-vehicle crash along the 1000 block of Dekalb Pike on Saturday Afternoon sent three people to the hospital with injuries.
Multiple people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in front of the William Penn Inn in Lower Gwynedd Township.
First responders were dispatched to the 1000 block of Dekalb Pike at 1:39 p.m. on March 30 for a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment. Arriving crews found a white Ford sedan and a white Subaru SUV suffering from disabling front-end damage, with the Subaru coming to a stop near the parking lot and the Ford being found in the grass on the other side of the road.
Sources said two occupants of the sedan became trapped in their vehicle as a result of the crash, requiring extrication from firefighters at the scene. In total, three people were transported from the scene to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
Dekalb Pike was closed for approximately one hour between Sumneytown Pike and Plymouth Road, with the scene being cleared at 2:30 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Lower Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by units from North Penn Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, VMSC Emergency Medical Services, Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, and Community Ambulance Association of Ambler.
