An Ambler man was arrested March 16 on felony weapons charges following a traffic stop earlier in the week at East Mt Pleasant Avenue at Reiff’s Mill Road, police said.

Nicholas Kemp, 31, was initially stopped for vehicle violations on March 13, according to Ambler Borough Police. During the traffic stop, police allegedly found a loaded firearm in his car, according to the report. A records check showed Kemp did not have a valid license to carry, police said.

Kemp was taken into custody several days later. A preliminary hearing is set for April 19, and he's also facing additional vehicle code violations, according to police.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
