A 24-acre, 18th-century Lower Gwynedd property at 720 Swedesford Road named “Tunnel Farm” is on the market for $5.39 million, complete with a 17,000-square-foot equestrian riding arena, pond, arboretum, and Smithsonian-archived gardens, according to Philadelphia Business Journal.

According to the report, the farm, located across from Gwynedd Preserve, was built in 1742 and includes a 6,920-square-foot, four-bedroom, seven-bathroom main house. There is also an outbuilding attached to a 200-year-old barn, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a pond, an arboretum with an organic vegetable garden, fruit trees, two pickleball courts, and an orchard.

With the 24 acres, the property — by-law — can have 24 horses to run on its expansive fields. The barn has six stalls and other portable stalls, per the report. The riding arena has 24 electrically-operated oversized glass sliding doors, wash stalls and equipment storage, per the article.

Visit the Smithsonian and one will find photos of the Tunnel Farm gardens archived there, per the report.

According to Montgomery County land records, the $591,320-assessed property is owned by Brad and Andrea Heffler, since they purchased it for $2.6 million in 2012 from Phoebe and Lee F. Driscoll Jr., the former chairman of The Committee of Seventy. Philadelphia Business Journal said Driscoll Jr. was also counsel for Aramark and a one-time candidate for Congress.

Phoebe Driscoll, according to the article, is a co-founder of the Land Preservation Committee of the Montgomery County Lands Trust. The Driscoll's acquired their property from the Natural Lands Trust Inc. in 1961, according to county land records.

Andrew and Brad Heffler are an interior designer and founder of Claims Corporation Bureau and FlixFling, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The property is listed with Petrina Unger at Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Real Estate.
