First responders were dispatched to the 900 block of Bellaire Avenue at 4:13 a.m. on April 4 for a report of a residential fire with entrapment. Arriving firefighters encountered heavy fire venting through the windows at the rear of the home.
One victim, identified as a 35-year-old male, escaped the fire and reported that two other residents were trapped inside. The male was transported from the scene via ambulance to Temple University Hospital for treatment of burn and smoke inhalation injuries, officials said.

The body of the victim’s wife, identified as 70-year-old Deborah Wood, was later found inside of the home during the subsequent investigation, according to township officials.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Upper Dublin Township Fire Marshal, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal’s Office.
