The earthquake rumbled Wissahickon area homes and businesses at 10:23 a.m. Friday

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake at a depth of one kilometer rumbled and shocked the southeastern Pennsylvania region and beyond Friday morning, including as far north as Connecticut, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 10:23 a.m., the earthquake was recorded three miles (five kilometers) northeast of Lebanon, New Jersey, according to USGS.

At 7:03 a.m. Friday, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake was also reported 275 miles from Dandan, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, and on Thursday, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake was reported near San Francisco, CA.

On Wednesday, Miyagi, Japan recorded a 6.1 magnitude earthquake, according to USGS.

According to USGS, on March 28 at 8:20 a.m, an earthquake occurred. two miles east-southeast of Ledyard, Connecticut.
