The early childhood education franchise Lightbridge Academy will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new Blue Bell location, which was the former site of Lai Lai Garden Asian restaurant.

The grand opening at 1144 Dekalb Pike will feature refreshments, face painting, balloon twister, and a bubble show. There will also be a fire and police information table, tours of the classrooms and technology demonstrations.

According to a press release, Lightbridge Academy’s new location has availability for more than 100 local families. It is owned by Craig and Randi Weiss, who also run Lightbridge Academy in Fort Washington. The Weisses oversaw the construction of two building additions on the property and a complete renovation of the 12,362-square-foot interior.

It is offering a discount of $1,200 off tuition as part of its grand opening event.

Lightbridge Academy serves children ages six weeks through pre-kindergarten.

“We are excited to extend Lightbridge Academy’s 26-year legacy of exceptional educational child care as ‘The Solution for Working Families’ to Blue Bell with Craig and Randi,” said Gigi Schweikert, CEO of Lightbridge Academy. “As we expand, our dedication to education makes a lasting impression on the communities we open in. Through every new center, wee are fostering avenues for meaningful transformations in child care.”
