Police investigating after woman’s body found in Wyndmoor home

A 57-year-old woman was found dead in her home following a wellness check Wednesday morning.

A joint homicide investigation involving the Springfield Township Police Department and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau has been launched after a woman’s body was found inside of a home in Wyndmoor Wednesday morning.

Investigators said they responded to the 1000 block of Cromwell Lane at 7:30 a.m. on April 10 following a request for a wellness check. Arriving officers located the body of woman in the master bedroom of the home, later identified as 57-year-old Elizabeth Shea, according to a release from the district attorney’s office.

No further details were provided, aside from Shea’s death being categorized as a homicide.

Officials said an autopsy will be performed later today.
