Police investigating after young boy struck by vehicle on Butler Avenue in Ambler

Police were dispatched to the scene near the intersection with Rosemont Avenue at 4:48 p.m. on April 8 for a report of a vehicle accident with a pedestrian struck.

Ambler Borough Police are investigating after a young boy was struck by a vehicle earlier this week along the 300 block of East Butler Avenue.

Police were dispatched to the scene near the intersection with Rosemont Avenue at 4:48 p.m. on April 8 for a report of a vehicle accident with a pedestrian struck. Sources at the scene told Wissahickon Now that a young boy was struck by a vehicle, and witnesses said they observed the boy being transported from the scene via ambulance.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

In a follow up interview, one source described the injuries as “not life threatening,” and said the boy has since returned home from the hospital.

Ambler Borough Police declined to comment on the incident, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. However, they are requesting anyone who may have surveillance footage from the area at the time of the crash to contact them at 215-643-6444. Tips can also be submitted here.
