As we celebrate National Poetry Month, Wissahickon School District is pleased to recognize Senior Pelin Yuksel, Wissahickon High School (WHS) Poetry Club President.
Yuksel has published two poetry books, Halcyon and Drowning in Dandelions, and won numerous national poetry awards. She was recently featured for the second time on the Main Line TV network and interviewed on the show Author Hour with Richard Lyntton.
Growing up, Yuksel was fascinated with poetry and began to pour her thoughts into words after a traumatic brain injury in September 2020. Drowning in Dandelions, her first poetry book, explores the world of mental obstacles many young adults face. Halcyon, a collection of poems, was published in 2022.
