The firm and its president have at least three ongoing lawsuits for misuse of funds, according to court documents
One Fort Washington man has filed paperwork to bring about a lawsuit against a Blue Bell-based wealth management firm.
On July 24, 2024, a writ of summons was filed in the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court by Charles Murray, of Fort Washington. According to an article in the Philadelphia Business Journal, Murray is filing against Rubicon Wealth Management in Blue Bell.
According to the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania, a write of summons is a legal document that can bring about a lawsuit in the Commonwealth. It is a way of doing so without filing the full complaint upfront.
The filing was created against Scott and Lyn Mason, both of whom manage Rubicon Wealth Management, as well as against Rubicon itself, and Orchard Park, its real estate holdings organization.
Mason, according to earlier posts by the Journal, has been accused of stealing $20 million from a client. In another suit, Mason’s own aunt is also among the accusing parties to have lost funds. A third lawsuit notes that funds were used for Mason’s own personal expenses, including his own mortgage payment, vacations, real estate purchases, and an “elaborate wedding.”
