Gwynedd Mercy University will host its 37th annual golf tournament on Monday, Sept. 30 to raise funds for the university’s scholarship programs. Such funds are “helping to keep a GMercyU education affordable.”

The tournament will begin with registration and lunch, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The golfing will begin with a noon shotgun start. Immediately after the golf playing, there will be a cocktail, dinner, and awards reception for the guests.

The day will take place at the Manufacturers’ Golf and Country Club located at 511 Dreshertown Road, in Fort Washington. The format will be a “shamble.” In a shamble, each golfer will play their ball from the single best drive in the group.

Space is limited (124 golfers for course play) to participate in the event. For those seeking to sponsor the day, please reach out to Mia McGlynn at mcglynn.m@gmercyu.edu or via phone at 215-641-5568.

Thus far, the event is sponsored by Irwin & Leighton Commercial Builders. There is even a hole-in-one prize of a 2025 Jeep Wrangler, as well as other chances to win prizes throughout the day’s events.

Golfers must register for the event and can do so as a single golfer (cost is $435, with a $35 tax-deductible gift). Sponsorships are available for the awards program, halfway house, cocktail hour, player gifts, dinner, lunch, beverage cart, putting green, hole, or corporate/group sponsorships. Alternatively, those that simply wish to join the dinner portion of the day’s events may do so for $100 per person.
