The Fort Washington-based Germantown Academy’s swim program will lose its coach come June 2025, leaving the prestigious program in search of someone new.
According to a report last week by Braden Keith on SwimSwam.com, Jeff Thompson will resign from his position as aquatics director and swim coach at Germantown Academy to become the head coach at a Fishers, Indiana-based swim club called Southeastern.
Thompson has coached at GA since the fall of 2015, taking over for the legendary Dick Schoulberg, who served in the role for its entire 43-year program. Thompson wanted to give the school a full 10 months to find his replacement, thus his early announcement.
The GA swim program has a long history of champions, producing eight Olympians and even a swimmer on the U.S. National Team for 12 years consecutively.
