Firefighters battle small bedroom fire Thursday night

A small fire broke out in an upstairs bedroom of a two-story home on the 1400 block of Mauck Road in Whitpain Township Thursday night, causing the closure of surrounding roadways.

Around 6:15 p.m., a small fire was reported in the single-family home and residents were evacuated, per reports. 

Firefighters cut a hole in the roof and busted out windows to vent the fire. 

The fire was under control in less than 15 minutes, with no smoke or fire showing from the scene. Crews were pulling items out of the second floor and tossing them out windows, per reports from the scene.

Mauck Road is closed, as is LaSalle Road. 

Responding units include Centre Square Fire, Norriton Fire Engine Co., and North Penn Fire Co., Harmonville Fire Co. and Second Alarmers Rescue Squad.
