A vehicle accident in Upper Dublin Township Saturday evening had rescuers attempting to remove a “hysterical” woman from a blue BMW.

According to county dispatch, first responders were called to the area of Summit Avenue near West Pennsylvania Avenue in Fort Washington around 5:46 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28. Emergency medical services were requested to the incident, as well, as the woman had blood on her face.

According to dispatch notes, the woman said something “exploded” in her face, as she was driving. Telephone dispatchers described her call as “hysterical,” stating she may be in shock. The woman told responders that she felt like her “face is peeling off,” and that she had glass in her face, and possibly in her eye, and that she may be stuck in her vehicle.

The Community Ambulance Association of Ambler responded to the scene, though Fort Washington Fire Company, initially called for a rescue, was recalled prior to its arrival. Upper Dublin Township Police area assisting at the scene, among other first responders.

More information will be posted as it is made available.
