Worcester accident leads to charges

  • Public Safety

An Ambler woman has been charged with running a red light in Worcester Township after crashing into a car driven by a father from Virginia and his 2-year-old passenger.

Police reported this week that the crash involving a 2014 Volvo S60, driven by Cathleen C. Pagano, 47, and a 2012 Honda Civic, driven by a 33-year-old Rockingham, Va. man, occurred at 5:07 p.m., June 17 on West Germantown Pike at North Trooper Road, according to a crash report from Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said Pagano was driving west on Germantown Pike, approaching the traffic light at North Trooper Road. The Civic was also stopped at the light, but on North Trooper Road at the intersection.

As the light on North Trooper Road turned green, the Civic traveled through the intersection. Pagano, police allege, was distracted and drove through the red light on Germantown Pike, striking the Civic.

No one was injured in the crash.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
