Lower Gwynedd Police have released the details of a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred last week on Dekalb Pike near the intersection with Greycliffe Lane.

First responders were dispatched to the scene at 11:44 p.m. on July 9 for a report of a single vehicle crash into a pole. Arriving personnel found a dark-colored Lexus RX350 SUV that had struck a utility pole, before coming to a rest against a tree approximately 30 feet away.

The driver of the vehicle — identified by police as 27-year-old Doston Rakhmanov, of Furlong, Bucks County — was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and he was found approximately 30 feet from the vehicle. Rakhmanov was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said they believe speed was a factor in the crash, and they are currently waiting for the data from the SUV’s onboard Event Data Recorder. Police added they are awaiting the results of Rakhmanov’s autopsy and the blood analysis, which usually takes two to four weeks.

Dekalb Pike was closed for more than four hours as a result of the crash, reopening at 4:10 a.m. on July 10 once the scene had been processed and cleared.

Lower Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by units from North Penn Fire Company, Wissahickon Fire Company, Centre Square Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, and Ambler Ambulance.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.
