Following the numerical rankings placed by Niche, which uses federal and local government datasets, Stacker recently released a list of The Best Suburbs in Philadelphia. Among the 10 Montgomery County-based municipalities, Wissahickon’s own Blue Bell (Whitpain Township) and Spring House (Lower Gwynedd Township) were part of their rankings.

Blue Bell, which came in at number 16, had an overall Niche Grade of A+ with its outdoor activities grade and school ranking positives outweighing the weather and cost-of-living negatives. The median home value was noted as $532,600, while rent averages $2,813.

At number 23, Spring House, which shared Blue Bell’s stellar school ratings with both being in Wissahickon School District, also scored an A+ overall with Niche. Spring House had a median home value of $620,300 and a median rent of $2,450.
