On Saturday, state Sen. Maria Collett visited Ingersoll Park — the home of Lower Gwynedd Little League — to announce $700,000 in state grant funding to support the construction of new public facilities benefitting Little League families and local residents.

The structure will include two ADA accessible family restrooms, a concession stand, and a press box.

“When we invest in our local recreation infrastructure, we invest in the future of our communities and all who live, work, and play here,” said Collett. “I was so proud to work alongside the Lower Gwynedd Township Supervisors and Little League Board of Directors to secure this funding, and I can’t wait to see the positive impact this new facility will have on the overall experience of Little League players, their families, and everyone who visits and enjoys Ingersoll Park.”

The project represents the first phase of several proposed improvements to Ingersoll Park.

“Lower Gwynedd Little League has been actively involved in the Lower Gwynedd community for over sixty years and prides itself on teaching the young boys and girls in the community the fundamental values of baseball, leadership, sportsmanship and positivity,” said Adam Taylor, President of Lower Gwynedd Little League. |Each year, approximately 400 families register for the little league program and with the help of many volunteers, the league puts significant effort into making the program an enjoyable experience for all involved. The improvements made as a result of this funding will not only benefit the players and families of the Lower Gwynedd Little League, but the entire Lower Gwynedd community as well. We are grateful for the support and recognition from Senator Collett and her staff.”
