A Connecticut woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole $2,500 worth of merchandise from the Sephora store along the 200 block of Dryden Road in Upper Dublin Township.

Police were dispatched to the store during the afternoon of Feb. 21 for a delayed report of multiple retail thefts by the same female suspect. Investigators learned that the woman, later identified as 34-year-old Elizabeth Reyes, of Hartford, had visited the store three times between Feb. 10 and Feb. 19, stealing $2,532.34 of merchandise in the process, according to charging documents.

Using surveillance footage provided by the store, investigators identified the suspect as Reyes, the report states.

Charges were initially filed on April 9, however Reyes wasn’t taken into custody until May 29, when she was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Maurice Saylor on one felony count of retail theft and multiple misdemeanor counts of retail theft and receiving stolen property. She was placed in custody at the county jail following arraignment, but court documents show she was freed the following day after a bail review by the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas changed bail to $2,500 unsecured.

Her next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas Lavenberg.

Court records show Reyes also has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 12 on misdemeanor charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property, stemming from a March 22 incident in Abington Township. She is also free on $2,500 unsecured bail in that case.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
