Upper Dublin Police are investigating an incident that occurred earlier this month and involved a suspicious man and two local children.
Investigators said the incident occurred on June 13 between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Craig-Y-Nos Avenue near the intersection with Twining Road in the Dresher section of the township. A 12-year-old girl and her younger brother were reportedly contacted by a man who stopped his vehicle, rolled down his window, and asked for directions to Madison Road.
The man then got out of his vehicle, approached the children, told them he was a firefighter and asked if they liked firetrucks. He then walked back to his vehicle and attempted to grab something from the backseat, at which point the kids became scared and ran to a neighbor for help, police said.
The man is described as a white male with gray, balding hair and wearing a gray shirt with dark-colored overalls. Investigators said the man was driving what is believed to be a white-colored SUV with silver lettering on the side.
“At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident and no other reports or information were found regarding this incident,” police said in a news release.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Mike Scarpato at Michael.scarpato@udpd.us.
