Emergency response personnel are currently at the scene of a vehicle crash involving an overturned vehicle on Route 309 in Lower Gwynedd Township.

Police were dispatched to the scene near the intersection with Norristown Road at 11:32 a.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries along the northbound lanes of the roadway. Sources tell Wissahickon Now that one person was ejected from their vehicle, and footage from PennDOT traffic cameras showed an overturned vehicle on the right shoulder of the road and emergency medical personnel performing CPR on one person.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown, and it’s unclear if there are any other injuries.

Traffic is reduced to one lane passing along the left shoulder of the northbound lanes. Radio dispatch indicates police will be shutting down Route 309 at Norristown Road, however the radio traffic did not indicate if it would be in both directions.

Responding units include Pennsylvania State Police, Lower Gwynedd Police, Wissahickon Fire Company, Ambler Ambulance, and VMSC Emergency Medical Services.

The scene is currently active, and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

This story will be updated.
