Three people were hospitalized Sunday night following a multi-vehicle crash on Route 309 in Lower Gwynedd Township.
The crash occurred at 8:41 p.m. along the southbound lanes of Route 309. Wissahickon Now photographer James Short said the crash involved three vehicles — a Toyota SUV, a Chevy sedan, and a third vehicle that had been removed from the scene prior to his arrival.
Dispatch indicated that three people were taken to area hospitals with injuries. Their current conditions are unknown.
Route 309 southbound was closed from the Bethlehem Pike exit to Norristown Road as a result of the crash. Northbound Route 309 remained open.
Photos from the scene appeared to show a person being handcuffed, though a review of district court filings Monday morning did not show any arrests being made as of the time of publication.
Pennsylvania State Police were assisted at the scene by units from Lower Gwynedd Police, Wissahickon Fire Company, Ambler Ambulance, and VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
