An Ambler man is facing charges after he allegedly stalked and harassed the staff of a restaurant in Lower Gwynedd Township — even after being warned by police.
Michael Frost, 54, has been charged with stalking, reckless endangerment, simple, and harassment, stemming from multiple alleged incidents between September 2023 and April of this year.
Lower Gwynedd Police were initially contacted by the owner of Tresini Restaurant on March 20 regarding a series of incidents involving Frost that began last year. The owner said Frost arrived late to one of their pasta cooking classes, and he was allegedly intoxicated and became disruptive, prompting the owner to ask that Frost leave and reschedule for another class, police said.
Frost then became agitated and protested, but ultimately left the restaurant, according to charging documents. However, when he arrived at the rescheduled class, he was again intoxicated and disruptive and was again asked to leave, the report states.
From that point on, Frost allegedly began emailing the restaurant, with text that police described as “rambling with disjointed thoughts and accusations” and several emails containing photographs of the restaurant from various locations outside. Then, on March 20, Frost allegedly placed a cup filled with what appeared to be urine by the front door of the restaurant, then took a photo of it and emailed it to the owner, investigators said.
In the image, Frost was visible in the reflection from the glass door, the affidavit states.
The owner provided police with a letter advising Frost was banned from the property and was to have no further contact with any of the employees. Police delivered the letter to Frost at his home on April 12 and advised him that he could be arrested if he violated the terms of the letter, at which point he said he understood and would have no further contact with them, according to the criminal complaint.
Two weeks later, police received a pair of emails from the restaurant owner, with the first showing Frost had allegedly smeared suspected urine and feces on the envelope that police had given him, then dropped it off at the restaurant. The second email included Frost allegedly referencing urinating on the restaurant’s property along with the statement “The cops ARE NOT gonna (sic) monitor it 24/7,” according to police.
“After hand delivering the no-contact notice to Frost on April 12 and having an in-person conversation with him about the specific terms of the letter — and the consequences for non-compliance — it is clearly evident that Frost has no intention of complying with the terms of the letter,” police said, in the affidavit of probable cause.
Court records show charges were filed by summons on May 13, and Frost will be arraigned during his preliminary hearing on June 13.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
