Lower Gwynedd Police are asking area residents to avoid the intersection of Bethlehem Pike with Norristown Road and Sumneytown Pike for the next two weeks as crews work on the intersection.

“While the township has made all of the adjustments we can to improve traffic signal timing, major construction will cause delays during this time,” police said, in a press release. “Please be patient, we anticipate that travel through the intersection will improve within a few weeks.”

The release was initially posted to the police department’s Crimewatch page, and was later sent to area residents on Monday via Montgomery County’s ReadyNotify system.

According to the township’s website, the construction is expected to be completed in July, with most of the work involving lane closures to be over by the end of May.
