First responders are currently at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Dekalb Pike in Lower Gwynedd Township.
Police were dispatched to the scene near the intersection with Hancock Road at 2:50 p.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. Sources at the scene said the crash involves a silver four-door sedan with heavy rear-end damage, and a black hatchback with front driver’s-side damage.
At least two people have been transported from the scene via ambulance, though a third ambulance was also dispatched.
Both southbound lanes of Dekalb Pike are closed, with traffic being backed up beyond the intersection with Welsh Road. Northbound traffic has been reduced to one lane as a result of the crash.
The scene is currently active, and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.
Responding units include Lower Gwynedd Police, Upper Gwynedd Police, North Penn Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, VMSC Emergency Medical Services, and Ambler Ambulance.
