Montgomery County SWAT - East Region, a regional team of 10 municipalities, is stepping up with a big goal for the Preston & Steve Camp Out for Hunger in December. 

Last year, the team donated around 1,500 pounds of food, and this year, according to its Facebook, the Montgomery County SWAT East determined to raise even more for the event, running Dec. 2 to Dec. 6.

Bring your non-perishable donations any of the participating police departments below.  

Most needed items:

  • Creamy peanut butter (plastic containers only)
  • Canned/shelf-stable meats (including tuna)
  • Shelf-stable white milk
  • Canned beef stew
  • Canned chili
  • Breakfast cereal or hot cereal
  • Nuts/trail mix
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Brown rice
  • Jelly (plastic containers only)
  • Canned fruits & vegetables (low salt, no high fructose corn syrup)


The Montgomery County East Region SWAT team is made up of officers from the jurisdictions of Cheltenham Township, Upper Moreland Township, Lower Moreland Township, Jenkintown Borough, Rockledge Borough, Bryn Athyn Borough, Hatboro Borough, Horsham Township, Ambler Borough, and Upper Dublin Township

The team consists of officers who are specially trained as tactical SWAT operators, snipers, and negotiators.
