Emergency crews are responding to the scene in Upper Dublin Township

A multi-vehicle accident has first responders battling a car fire this evening on Route 309.

According to Montgomery County Dispatch, emergency units were called out around 6:48 p.m. on Wednesday evening for the report of a vehicle accident along Route 309 southbound in the Township of Upper Dublin near mile marker 6.2, just south of Butler Pike East.


Early reports from witnesses stated that up to three cars are involved. Two appear to be on fire at this time. Drivers have said that the cars are “pulled over” and one is on the shoulder, but traffic is slowed at this hour in this vicinity.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area, and future lane closures are more emergency units arrive may occur.

Responding to the scene were Fort Washington Fire Company, Upper Dublin Township Police, and the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler, among other crews.

It is unknown the status of any persons involved. More information will be made available as it is released.
