It’s that time of the year to review and prepare budgets, and no we don’t mean your holiday shopping list. Ambler Borough’s Council that it is hoping to present and prepare its 2025 Budget in the coming month, ahead of December adoption.

Ambler’s Borough Manager Mary Aversa said during the borough’s committee meeting the first week of November, that the budget is nearing its end.

“If we adopt the budget on Dec. 17, we need to have it at the library 30 days prior,” said Aversa, as the council reviewed its upcoming important dates. “Nick believes by the end of the week, we should have it buttoned up.”

The borough manager said that the staff is always ready to assist council, whenever they may need.

“We’ll send it to council,” said Aversa. “It’ll give you time to review it, ask any questions, just call in. We’re all here to help if you have any questions.”

But the budget must also be available to the public for its review, questions, and discussion.

“The first meeting will be Dec. 3, and I’m going to need to advertise that,” said Aversa. She said that, at 6 p.m., there will be a Borough Council Workshop to discuss the budget as a team and review any questions or concerns that any member may have.

At 6:30 p.m., on Dec. 3, the public “would be the first public meeting,” according to Aversa, where all are invited to attend. Aversa added that on Thursday, Dec. 5, the office of the Borough Administration will be open and available to take any questions from the public.

“We have one meeting where we’re available during the day,” she said. “If any resident works evenings, and isn’t able to make a meeting, [they can] come in.” The open session will be held at 10 a.m. that day for any persons that prefer a daytime meeting schedule.

“We’ll advertise the budget for adoption on Dec. 17,” said Aversa. “We’ll have the 6:30 [p.m.] budget meeting prior, another public meeting. Then the 7 [p.m.] meeting, we’ll go to adopt the budget.”
