Abandoned car found under bridge in creek, police searching for person who fled into woods

Whitpain Police are using thermal drones to search for a subject who reportedly abandoned a car that crashed into a creek under a bridge on the 200 block of Swedesford Road in Lower Gwynedd Thursday night and fled on foot into the woods. 

According to Montgomery County emergency dispatch, a resident reported seeing a vehicle on a trail camera behind their house around 7:56 p.m. Authorities found an unoccupied vehicle upon arrival, with headlights on under the bridge.

A witness reported seeing a man with black hair and a backpack fleeing from the scene through the woods, per dispatch reports.

Centre Square and North Penn fire companies are on the scene, as well as Community Ambulance Association of Ambler.
