Three women in Philadelphia were raped and killed by the “Necrophiliac Kensington Strangler” in 2010, and now the violent and disturbing story will soon be shared on Oxygen’s True Crime television show “Philly Homicide.” Airing Saturdays at 9 p.m. on both the Oxygen channel, as well as the Peacock streaming app, the show will showcase the horrific crime, which sadly outlines the death of one Gwynedd Mercy University nursing student.

Elaine Goldberg, 21, of Oxford Circle, was studying to be a nurse at the Gwynedd Valley-based college, said the show’s Oxygen.com homepage, when she “was dabbling in the wrong stuff” according to her brother. Her family had just celebrated her “recent fragile sobriety” in late October 2010, when just days later, Nov. 3, her body would be found in a vacant lot in a community known as “The Badlands.”

The show’s preview said that bruising around Goldberg’s neck suggested she’d been strangled. Her nearby purse indicated to police it was not likely a robbery.

Ohmarr Jenkins, a Philadelphia Police Department detective, told the show “Philly Homicide” that she was “partially clothed, her bra and her shirt were around her neck.”

“She was on all fours, which was very unusual, like someone had positioned her that way,” Jenkins said as part of the “Darkness in Kensington” episode.

An autopsy performed later on Goldberg confirmed she’d been strangled to death, and that it was done likely only 12 to 24 hours prior to being found. To add to the horrific nature of the crime, the medical examiner also said that she had been raped and sodomized, both before and after her death, said the show’s page.

For the full story on Goldberg’s death, and the killer that took at least two more lives, read the report on Oxygen.com or tune into “Philly Homicide” Saturday at 9 p.m.
