The Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors recently brought two eagles under their wing, thanking them for both their dedication and hard work. No, they weren’t the feathered variety, nor were they the type to take to a professional football field. But instead, the supervisors took time out to honor those involved with the Boy Scouts of America, now called “Scouting America.”

Two new gentlemen were recognized at a recent board meeting, with the congratulating of the two newly minted Eagle Scouts with honor and recognition of the community’s leaders.

Adam Hajdak and his team completed his Eagle Scout Project at Wissahickon High School. There, he and his help worked hard at refurbishing and reorganizing the high school’s outdoor storage container. The much-needed “spring cleaning” included taking special care of the school’s baseball equipment near the new turf field.

Jonnie Klinger, Jr. and his team of over 65 volunteers completed his Eagle Scout Project at First Presbyterian Church of Ambler. There the young man coordinated the efforts of a massive team to assist with an erosion project on the front lawn of the church. The project included the installing of a river jack to stop waterflow. This equipment was designed to help handle the church’s drainage issues. In addition, the crew also worked to replace the washed-out topsoil on the church’s lawn, installing new sod in its place.

Both Eagle Scouts are members of Boy Scout Troop 117.
