Reports of a truck fire have emergency responders assisting with the incident and traffic along the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Tuesday.

Around 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday morning, calls came into the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety’s dispatch for reports of a vehicle fire in Upper Dublin Township. Witnesses from the scene said that male was pulled to the side of the traffic lanes, using an extinguisher to dampen flames emitting from the front of a large truck.

Traffic in the area is slowed due to the incident, and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible. Use caution if driving eastbound on Interstate 276 in the area of Fort Washington in Upper Dublin Township.

At this time, all lanes are currently closed eastbound.

Responding to the scene were crews from the Fort Washington Fire Company, the Wissahickon Fire Company, Harmonville Fire Company No. 1, and the Pennsylvania State Police.
