If those fall leaves are already becoming more of a nuisance than a beautification in your yard, you’re in luck. The Lower Gwynedd Township’s waste company is contracted to begin leaf collections very soon.
Republic Services, which provides the waste removal and trash needs for the township, will provide curbside leaf and yard waste collection on Saturdays including Oct. 12 and 26. To obtain the service, leaves must be put into biodegradable bags and placed curbside in front of your township home prior to 6 a.m. the day before pick-ups.
All leaves must be in the bags and be in the designated location no later than 6 a.m. on pick-up dates, however, be put out no earlier than 7 p.m. on the days prior. Typical trash collection will continue on Mondays and Thursdays, with recycling on its usual single day per week.
Yard waste in Lower Gwynedd should only be placed in front of township homes, curbside, on the designated dates. Yard waste will not be picked up on other dates. If items are not placed properly in the biodegradable bags, available for purchase at most hardware stores, they will not be picked up.
Each home in the township is limited to eight bags per pick-up date. For more information on the Township’s policies and work with Republic Services, visit https://www.lowergwynedd.org/information/trash-recycling/.
