They say that “teamwork makes the dream work,” which is likely the goal for the Wissahickon School District as it mapped out its bus safety initiatives for a successful school year.

The district has partnered with all three municipal police departments, the Whitpain Township Police, Ambler Borough Police, and Lower Gwynedd Township Police departments in order to operate “Bus Patrol,” a program focused on the safety of students traveling to and from school. While the protection of students is always one of the district’s most crucial goals, this new program doesn’t stop with simple police partnerships.

In addition, the local authorities, the district has also opted to work with BusPatrol, which calls itself a “turnkey bus safety program.” As previously covered by Wissahickon Now, the district is in its educational stage of the program, involving students, the parents, and the community.

To that end, the district has also shared a YouTube video with the public. View the link below to see more about how the program will work to ensure the safety of all involved in local student transportation.
