Those of all ages are welcome to attend a free senior resource fair on Oct. 17 as Rep. Liz Hanbidge, who represents the 61st district of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives hosts the free event in Lansdale.
The District includes portions of the Wissahickon School District, in both Whitpain and Lower Gwynedd townships. Residents from the area can enjoy a chance to learn about the programs, opportunities, and events designed especially for seniors and older adults.
According to Census Reporter, the area of the 61st district includes a population of 62,959 people in its 37 square miles. While the median age of the area is 47, 34% of those residents are age 60 and over. Additionally, the median age of the district is 20 percent higher than the 40.8 years of age average in the Commonwealth as a whole.
The Senior Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lansdale YMCA, in the North Penn Commons, 608 E. Main St., in Lansdale. In addition to helpful resources, the fair will also feature free vaccines, blood pressure screenings, refreshments, and more.
“Seniors are invited to this free event where they can connect with state and local resources that are designed to help them live happy, healthy, and productive lives,” said Hanbidge, via her event webpage here. She added it is an event for “local seniors and caregivers to share valuable information designed to improve Montgomery County seniors’ quality of life.”
For more information, contact Hanbidge’s office at 610-277-3230 or stop by the Blue Bell office at 1098 W. Skippack Pike in Blue Bell from Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
