It seems like there is no “off season” when it comes to road work in Pennsylvania. The area’s highways seem to have an endless décor of orange warning barrels, lining the way.
According to a recent release from PennDOT’s District 6 News page, the work continues on when it comes to Montgomery County roads. This time, the work is not just for the roads, but also to allow Aqua Pennsylvania Utility improvements to occur along two of the state’s highways.
Beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 22 and continuing through Thursday, Oct. 31, Route 63/Moreland Road will be closed and detoured 24/7. The construction will take place between Easton Road and Route 611/York Road in both Abington and Upper Moreland townships. During the closure, the drivers in the area will be rerouted to Easton Road, Old Welsh Road, and Route 611/York Road instead.
“Local access will be maintained up to the work zone,” said the release. “Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.”
All scheduled activities and timelines will be weather dependent, so the provided dates may shift somewhat to accommodate the project’s progress. Aqua Pennsylvania will complete these projects, according to the release, under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
