Montgomery County’s mobile outreach van will be heading across the county over the next few days to assist voters ahead of the upcoming general election.

The Montgomery County Mobile Voter Services Satellite Office provides assistance with voter registration, mail-in ballot needs and other services related to the general election. Monday marked the deadline to register to vote in Pennsylvania, and those interested in voting by mail have until Oct. 29 to request a mail-in ballot.

“With the launch of our new Voter Services Van — PA’s first-ever mobile satellite office — we are investing in accessibility so that everyone in Montgomery County has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process,” a county spokesperson said in a statement Monday.

The van’s first stop this week was at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, and will visit the following locations over the next 10 days:

 • Norristown: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 during the Elmwood Park Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd.

• New Hanover: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at the New Hanover Township Building, 2943 N. Charlotte St., Gilbertsville

• Hatfield: 1:30-3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at the Hatfield Township Administration Building, 1950 School Road

• Glenside: 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Arcadia University, 450 S. Easton Road

The van was formally unveiled earlier this month at a fall festival in Abington Township. It has since visited events in Plymouth and Montgomery townships as well as King of Prussia and Pottstown-based senior housing developments.

“Everywhere the van has been we’ve seen an enthusiastic response,” Montgomery County Election Board Chairman Neil Makhija said last week.

The voter van was the subject of a lawsuit filed last week by a Lower Providence Township man seeking a preliminary injunction against the van, accusing county officials of “not publicly announc[ing] the time and location for the mobile voter services van,” the filing states. The legal proceedings came just a day after another lawsuit filed by the Republican National Committee was withdrawn.

According to a county spokesperson, the mobile outreach van can “provide the same services as a regular satellite office.” Eight physical satellite office locations are also situated throughout the county, offering extended hours through Oct. 28.
