Though they may live at the same address, when one Blue Bell grandmother found her grandson had stolen her car, she reported it to police and pressed charges, according to recent reports.
The Whitpain Township Police were dispatched to the unit block of Ramsgate Court in the township, to an apartment complex, Oxford of Blue Bell, around 12:16 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, said reports. There, they met with the caller, who said her car was stollen, but she knew exactly who’d taken her 2022, white Mercedes-Benz GLA250 SUV: her grandson, police said.
The victim said she did wish to pursue criminal charges, and, as police were still on location taking the woman’s statement, the grandson returned, operating the stolen vehicle, entering the apartment area from Stenton Avenue, and began to park in the parking lot of the complex, said reports.
Mariusz Benjamin Pawlowski, 18, of the same address in Blue Bell, does not have a valid driver’s license, said police.
Pawlowski is charged with a felony count of theft by unlawful taking of movable property, a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and a summary offense of driving without a license. He is held in the county jail, unable to post a monetary bail of $1,000.
Pawlowski is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 4 at 11:45 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Suzan Leonard.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
