The scary and unknown world of retirement comes with plenty of questions. It’s new to you, and there are a lot of moving parts that have to be moved into place. From juggling new finances, to growing accustomed to a new schedule, plenty of things are changing.
Aimed at providing helpful resources for its surrounding community, the Wissahickon Valley Public Library’s Blue Bell location will hold a “Taxes in Retirement Seminar” on both Sept. 10 and 17.
The library, located at 650 Skippack Pike in Blue Bell, will host the Tuesday evening sessions starting at 6 p.m. on each date. Each is to last one hour. It is not, as a public library, a sponsor of nor affiliated with the seminar in any way. The events are operated by Enlighten 567.
According to the 567 website, the educational session will focus on the following subjects:
Enlightened 567, which Forbes called “a leading educational resource for those nearing retirement,” says that the seminar will help retired persons to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of tax filing.
“The seminar will equip you with the most up-to-date and comprehensive information regarding retirement taxation, including ways to effectively harvest your income sources, whether they are Social Security, 401(k), IR, other sources, or a combination of them all,” said the site’s description. “Using the information you’ll learn during the seminar, you’ll be better positioned to develop a successful retirement tax strategy that can potentially safeguard you from over-taxation, all with the goal of saving you money.”
The site also notes that there is no obligation to engage with presenters during or after the seminar, and that there is no “sales pitch” involved in this educationally-focused session.
