A vehicle accident reported just before noon on Monday has traffic on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike slowed in the Whitpain Township area.

Calls to Montgomery County emergency dispatch were made at 11:57 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 for an accident involving multiple vehicles. The accident occurred near the ramp to 276 Westbound, via the 476 Northbound lanes. Early reports noted the accident occurred around milepost 22.9.

Those close to the scene report that one vehicle flipped completely over, landing on its four tires. However, units were recalled approximately ten minutes after the incident was reported.

The left lane of Interstate 476 North was blocked. Drivers should expect delays in the area.

First responders called to the scene included Harmonville Fire Company, Centre Square Fire Company, as well as Plymouth Community Ambulance Association.
