Those that live in and around Ambler Borough know what a treasure the community can be. But it seems that “the secret” is getting out more and more. The latest publication to tout its tourist-friendly features is World Atlas.
In an article by Joshua Chiedu posted on Sept. 11, called “9 Undiscovered Small Towns in Pennsylvania,” Ambler was listed in its unnumbered tally.
“Ambler is a quaint, undiscovered town with a proud history, rich arts and culture,” said WorldAtlas.com’s article. “Hence, it is home to several historic properties visitors would love, such as Dawesfield House, dating back to 1777 during the Revolutionary War… Art enthusiasts can head to the Act II Playhouse to catch a thrilling show or enjoy a movie at the iconic Ambler Theatre.”
The article noted that, while Pennsylvania as a whole may be one of the more populated states (we’re number five in the country according to 2020 Census data) in the U.S., we still harbor many quaint small towns “waiting to be discovered and explored.”
The article called Ambler a community that “glows in history with many ancient buildings and landmarks,” while it also highlighted tiny towns like Ohiopyle, with less than 50 residents.
