The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health is offering free cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training and Naloxone (NARCAN®) administration classes to Montgomery County residents and organizations.

This program is part of the County’s ongoing commitment to enhance public safety and health. Based on a review of recent health and safety data, the County recognizes the critical importance of equipping residents with life-saving skills. These free CPR and NARCAN classes are taught by certified instructors and are designed to empower community members with the knowledge and confidence to act quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Participants will learn hands-only CPR techniques including chest compressions, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and first aid for choking. The classes will also cover how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer NARCAN, which will be provided. Each participant will receive a completion certificate upon finishing the course. The class is free, but participants will need to pay $22 for their official certification card.

Class Details:  Ongoing classes for individuals needing CPR certification will be held on the first Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DeKalb Center Norristown, 1430 Dekalb St. Norristown, PA 19404. Classes for businesses and organizations will be held as needed based on registration.
