Portion of Sumneytown Pike closed after school van and SUV collide Monday afternoon

One person has been taken to an area hospital by Community Ambulance Association-Ambler following a vehicle rescue in Lower Gwynedd after an empty white school van and a black Chevrolet Equinox collided on Sumneytown Pike at Wayne Circle.

According to reports from Montgomery County emergency radio, one person was trapped, but a second individual was able to self-extricate from the vehicle. 

Community Ambulance Association-Ambler was assisted at the scene by VMSC Emergency Medical Services, along with Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Lower Gwynedd Police, Wissahickon Fire, and North Penn Vol. Fire Co. 

Sumneytown Pike is closed in both directions between Route 202 East and Evans Road.
