Lower Gwynedd Business Association, Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County to host 'Are You Social?'
It really isn’t just for silly cat videos, funny memes, and updates on Taylor Swift. Social media can also be a crucial tool for business owners, too.
A 2023 Forbes article noted that an estimated 4.9 billion people worldwide use social media. In 2022, the article noted, social media application markets were valued at $49.09 billion, with Facebook leading the way with 53% of all social media visits being to its online platform.
Is your small business using social media to expand its reach? If “Likes” and “Follows,” “Reels” and “Stories” have your head spinning, you are in luck. The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County aims to help. The organization will host an educational session on social media marketing this fall.
“Are You Social?” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Ambler Yards. Alongside a light breakfast, the presentation will review the many social media channels on today’s market and how they might help your business’ marketing plan.
Lauren Kane, the marketing manager of Harth Builders, will lead the event. Harth Builders, a local home construction, design, and remodeling business, often uses these social platforms to share ideas, promote concepts, and seek new business.
The Lower Gwynedd Business Association (LGBA) is running the event. Founded in 2012 as “an independent group for local business,” the LGBA began hosting joint evens with the Chamber more than 10 years ago. By 2022, the two groups combined finances, merging many of the functions of each into one.
Those that wish to attend the educational session can do so on the Chamber’s website here. During the event, coats will also be collected by LGBA and the Ambler YMCA to benefit the Knights of Columbus. Children’s coats from size 2T through XXL and all adult sizes are welcome. Both new and gently used coats are welcome.
Ambler Yards is located at 300 Brookside Ave., Ambler. There is no cost to attend the event. For more information, email Kim Nguyen at kim@chambergmc.org or visit https://lowergwyneddbiz.com/event/are-you-social-an-educational-program/ to register.
