Fire crews respond to basement fire in Whitpain Monday night

Multiple fire departments were able to work together to extinguish a basement fire in Whitpain Township quickly Monday night.

A call came in for a house fire at 8:38 p.m. at 1203 Hunter Drive, near Parkwood Road, according to Montgomery County emergency radio dispatch.

By 9 p.m., the fire was reported extinguished and under control, but a heavy smoke condition remained in the home.

All parties were safely evacuated from the home. 

Jefferson Fire Co., Centre Square Fire Co., Norriton Fire Co., Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, North Penn Vol. Fire Co., Wissahickon Fire Co., Second Alarmer's Association & Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, and fire marshals from Good Will Fire Co. and Jefferson Fire Co. No. 1 are all at the scene.
