A Hatboro mother is accused of firing a gun twice after a child’s birthday party in Montgomery Township last weekend after she was stopped from driving home due to being too drunk, allegedly putting her 3-year-old child in danger.

Kaylee Sarah Douglas aka Kaylee Muntz, 25, of the 400 block of Blair Mill Road, Hatboro, was charged Sunday by Montgomery Township Police with aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of children, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon, and recklessly endangering another person, stemming from her alleged role in the Saturday night incident, according to charging documents.

On Saturday, at 11:50 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of McKean Court for a report of an armed subject who pulled out a Glock and fired it twice, according to the affidavit.

Upon arrival, police found Douglas at the entrance to the home and officers approached the residence with their firearms drawn in a low ready position, police said.

Douglas was told to exit the doorway and move onto the front lawn, to which she complied, police said. An empty holster was on her front right waistband, per the complaint.

The Glock 43X had a round in the chamber, police allege, and is registered to Douglas. The weapon was sized by witnesses prior to police arrival.

Witnesses told police that after the party was over, Douglas proceeded to the McKean Court home with her child, according to the affidavit. At the house, Douglas allegedly drank to the point of intoxication where she was vomiting and urinating on herself.

Douglas attempted to leave the house with her child to drive home, police said, but she was stopped and told she could either sleepover or take an Uber home, both of which she denied.

Police said Douglas attempted to leave a second time with her child, but she was stopped again by numerous people on the front porch, who did not want her to drive drunk with her child.

A witness grabbed Douglas’s child so she would not leave, at which time Douglas allegedly pulled out her gun from her waistband and began pointing it at several people in an alleged aggressive manner. At that time, all partygoers ran back inside the house before police arrived, according to the complaint.

Douglas remains at Montgomery County jail on 10% of $10,000 cash bail, according to a criminal docket. A preliminary hearing is set for April 22 at 1:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
