Telephone pole falls down in Whitpain Township creating road closure

Yost Road is expected to be closed for the next six to eight hours

Yost Road is closed between North Wales Road and Cortez Road due to a downed telephone pole caused by a car accident, according Ready Montco.

Crews from PECO have been notified and are assessing the situation.

The road is expected to be closed for the next six to eight hours while crews await a new pole to be delivered and installed.

The incident occurred on Sunday night around 8:37 p.m. Officials gave an update this morning, and indicated that the road is still closed while a new pole arrives.

According to the report, "this will be an extended closure until PECO can replace the pole."
