Act II Playhouse is trading scripts for stand-up as it transforms its stage for a night of laughs.
The local theater in Ambler is presenting a special, one-night only, stand-up comedy event on Friday, May 2, at 8 p.m., featuring Jake Mattera, and Chris Dolan, and special guest Nora Trabin.

His debut album, A Soft One, debuted at #1 on iTunes and Amazon and can be heard on Sirius XM. His comedy festival appearances include Big Sky, Laughing Skull, Limestone, San Francisco Sketchfest, and more. Jake was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival and Helium’s Philly’s Phunniest Competition. He’s opened for Brian Regan, Dave Attell, and Nate Bargatze, among others. You can follow him on X @JakeMattera.
Dolan is a Philly comic who started telling jokes at the tail end of a corporate career working for companies who didn’t like it when he made fun of them. Trabin is a Montco native who has appeared in venues throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey. She was a house team member at Philly Improv Theater and a 2021 Philly’s Phunniest semi-finalist.
