After a brief hiatus, First Friday returns tonight in downtown Ambler on Butler Avenue.
Held on the first Friday of each month, the free public event was not scheduled over the last couple of months due to the Arts and Music Fest in June, as well as the Fourth of July holiday falling on a Friday last month.
But now, Butler Avenue will once again close down from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. so residents can explore local businesses and restaurants, enjoy live music and entertainment, and there’s tons of activities for children of all ages.
What started more than a decade ago as a free block party, has grown into a monthly tradition in Ambler. First Friday, hosted by Ambler Main Street, throughout downtown Ambler, continues its long-standing special event that is open to all ages.
“We have a very basic goal, to support the town – residents and businesses,” said Liz Wahl Kunzier, Ambler Main Street Manager, in a previous interview. “Everything we do is aimed at promoting the town, supporting the businesses and giving the residents and local community a vibrant exciting place to live, work, shop, be entertained, and dine.”
