Kingkaram Collier Abdullah, 26, of Trenton, N.J., is facing multiple felony charges stemming from what started as a carjacking incident in New Jersey and resulted in kidnapping charges in a Maple Glen shopping center, according to police.

On July 19 around 7:56 p.m., police officers from the Upper Dublin Police Department were dispatched to Verona Pizza, located at 1941 Norristown Road in Maple Glen, for a report of a theft in progress, according to police.

According to police, the incident started earlier in the day around 3:30 p.m. in New Jersey when Abdullah could not locate his medications, telling officers that he was “tweaking” because his medications were with a relative in Baltimore.

Abdullah then noticed a woman who was Door Dashing pull over in a black Scion across the street from where Abdullah was, according to police. Abdullah admitted to police that after a brief struggle with the owner of the vehicle, he “got her out of the car and drove off with it,” according to police.

Hours later, he went "joyriding" in the stolen vehicle and ended up in a shopping center in Upper Dublin Township/Maple Glen near Verona Pizza.

A witness on scene reported to police that he parked his 2018 Mazda CX5 in the fire lane of Verona Pizza to pick up food. After the owner exited his vehicle, Abdullah then entered the driver seat of the Mazda CX5. The owner was able to open the door while Abdullah started to drive away, who then jumped on top of Abdullah to prevent the vehicle from being stolen.

The owner of the vehicle was able to put his foot on the brake while simultaneously trying to put the car in park, but Abdullah continually pressed the gas pedal, according to police. The car stopped and Abdullah exited the vehicle. The gear shift to the Mazda was broken after the struggle, and the vehicle could not be put into park. During the struggle, the owner of the vehicle suffered a cut to the forearm. Abdullah ran down Welsh Road and got back into the black Scion.

According to a witness who was in the car at the time, Abdullah was acting aggressive and possibly intoxicated, according to police.

When police arrived, they saw the black Scion parked in front of Wells Fargo bank, located at 1977 Norristown Road in the same shopping center as Verona Pizza. There was a group of people surrounding the vehicle, and police approached the vehicle and made contact with a shirtless male in a tan baseball hat. The male told police that he needs his medication and he stole the black Scion from New Jersey, according to police. Abdullah told police he stopped at the Wells Fargo hoping to connect to their WiFi.

In the passenger seat of the Scion were two bouquets of roses, which were confirmed to be stolen from Giant in the same shopping center.

Abdullah is now charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, kidnapping, receiving stolen property, and other charges.
